Ceasefire is the floor. End the Occupation and Recognize the Right to Return is the ceiling.
NEW YORK CITY, 12/13/23
*That women and children comprise 70% of the killed and injured in the Gaza siege is proof enough that the entity Israel lies through its collective teeth when claiming that it is “fighting Hamas.”
*23,012 Palestinians, including 10,000 children, have been killed as of this writing, according to the Geneva-based Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor.
*The asymmetrical character of this attack is visible in the disproportionate number of Israeli deaths — 1,332 — versus the increasing number of Palestinian deaths.
*Israel told Palestinians to move out of Northern Gaza and into the south. Now Israel bombs Southern Gaza, to where hundreds of thousands of Palestinians had moved, following Israeli warnings. The largest city in Southern Gaza, Khan Younis, is now under attack. In an ever-constricting move to “kettle” Palestinians and make them even more vulnerable to intensive bombing, Israel now demands that they move to Al Mawasi, into an area about a quarter of the size of JFK Airport.
*1.8 million Palestinians are being ordered to squeeze themselves into a supposed “safe zone” in Al Masawi. Considering the Israeli pattern of bombing declared supposed “safe zones,” this demand seemed aimed at killing as many Palestinians and as conveniently as possible.
*The Swedish Prime Minister, at a press conference, said that “Israel has a right to genoci — self-defense.” This conflation of self-defense with genocide violates all international law. It is contemptible and should be condemned ipso facto.
*The constant demand to “condemn Hamas” is nothing more than a deceptive way for people to accept that those whose land and territories are stolen, cultures are destroyed, and who must live by the capriciousness of colonial overlords have no right to resist. Conversely, colonizers cannot claim self-defense when those they have dispossessed rise against them.
*Food, electricity, fuel, and even potable water have been denied the residents of Gaza, who are Muslims, Christians, and are of a diversity of bloodlines. Entire families have been killed to the nth consanguinity, with bombs substituting for gas ovens.
These are facts, not the confabulation of some ministry of fascist propaganda that has tried to box the condition of Palestinians into a “humanitarian” issue rather than an issue of colonialism, land theft, ethnic cleansing, apartheid, and fascism. Meanwhile, the West’s weapons manufacturers rake in death profits by the millions of dollars.
We therefore condemn the Israeli siege of Gaza, call for an immediate ceasefire, an end to its 75 years and seven months of a brutal, ruthless occupation of its rightful residents, and conferment of the right to return for its displaced. Moreover, we demand that the Israeli entity be charged with war crimes.
We are descendants of those who have been dispossessed of land and nationality by a variety of superpowers, and we are in anguish at the world’s inability to stop the mass murder and cultural annihilation of a people.
From the river to the sea, Palestine SHOULD BE FREE. — ###
